Overview
Prince Akeem Joffer is set to become King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his royal father's dying wish to groom this son as the crown prince, Akeem and Semmi set off to America once again.

Wow I just watched the first movie I'm starting to like the second one 😀
As an African-American female viewer, I surely did not appreciate Leslie Jones portraying herself as yet another "Black single mom without class", as if that's suppose to be funny. When will the media ever get fed up with portraying Black women like this? Many Black women are married. They know the fathers of their children. They're educated. In fact, Black women are one of the most educated populations in America. So they recognize delicacies like caviar when they see it. So just quit it. Also, I for one, am fed up with Eddie Murphy writing scripts and starring in movies like "Norbit" portraying Black women as overweight, loud, and obnoxious. Meanwhile, he lays up with or marries light-skinned or White women who are nothing like the Black women he portrays in his movies. No surprise there!
